The Master's Degree in HPC Engineering offers various international mobility opportunities, allowing you to enrich your academic journey through study experiences abroad, in outstanding academic and research environments.
Our Study Course is also involved in special double degree initiatives with partner universities, within the framework of projects funded by the European Commission. These programmes are not part of the standard university mobility calls, but are managed under the coordination of the Department of Electronics, Information and Bioengineering (DEIB). These European double degree pathways are structured over 2 years and 120 ECTS credits, allowing students to obtain two academic qualifications: the Master's Degree in HPC Engineering from Politecnico di Milano and the degree awarded by the partner university.

Current Opportunities
Erasmus+: by participating in the university mobility calls, you can apply to spend a study period abroad – for exams or thesis – at one of Politecnico di Milano’s partner universities. The destinations associated with HPC Engineering have been carefully selected: they are all institutions conducting high-level research and education in HPC-related fields, closely connected with supercomputing centres across various European countries, ensuring a learning experience fully aligned with your study path.

Through the EUMaster4HPC partnership, Politecnico di Milano offers students the opportunity to join a European educational ecosystem dedicated to High Performance Computing. Even without awarding a double degree, this initiative allows you to enrich your academic journey with international experiences: summer schools, workshops, thesis projects abroad, internships in research centres, and direct contact with the supercomputing industry. It is a valuable opportunity to study in a European context of excellence, integrating your study plan with recognised and highly qualifying activities.
Thesis abroad: you have the chance to develop your thesis project by carrying out part of your research at a foreign university as a "free mover", in collaboration with your supervisor and international research groups. Thanks to the Thesis Abroad programme, part of the “Progetto Merito” initiative, you can apply for a scholarship to support your stay. This is a valuable opportunity to enhance your thesis work, experience an international academic environment, and build new scientific collaborations.
