What is EUMaster4HPC?

EUMaster4HPC is a European partnership of universities, research institutes, supercomputing centres and industrial partners working together to shape advanced education in High Performance Computing.

At Politecnico di Milano, EUMaster4HPC offers a double degree pathway connected to the MSc in High Performance Computing Engineering.

Students follow a mobility path between Politecnico di Milano and one of the EUMaster4HPC partner universities.

The first-year country condition defines where students can start the pathway: the first year cannot be started in the same country of the Bachelor’s degree.

Student background First year Second year
Bachelor from Italy A partner university abroad Politecnico di Milano
Bachelor from outside Italy Politecnico di Milano A partner university abroad

Note: Students will be enrolled at Politecnico di Milano from the first year for both years (including the year attended abroad), independently of the direction of the mobility.

What do we offer?

The programme is designed for students who want to build strong technical competence in HPC while gaining international exposure and direct contact with the European supercomputing community.

Beyond the degree structure, EUMaster4HPC gives students access to a broader learning experience.

HPC challenges and workshops

Participate in thematic training activities, international HPC challenges and workshops organised by partner institutions.

EuroHPC Summit

Attend the annual EuroHPC Summit as HPC ambassadors and connect with research, industry and policy stakeholders.

Online learning resources

Access MOOCs, teaching resources and learning material developed by EUMaster4HPC partners.

Summer School

Summer School training activities organised in Europe to engage with the HPC Ecosystem.

Two Universities

Carry out your studies at two European universities leading to a double degree, one from each institution.

Internships and Thesis

Access internship positions for thesis work in a company, research centre or supercomputing centre.

How to Apply?

If you are interested in studying HPC Engineering at Politecnico di Milano and willing to enrich your education path with EUMaster4HPC, apply to EUMaster4HPC (extended deadline: by 15 July 2026) through the EUMaster4HPC portal, selecting Politecnico di Milano as your preferred university where to study in combination with another university as a preference for the mobility path.

You will also need to apply at local level at the two universities, according to their own procedures. In particular

  • to Politecnico di Milano for the Laurea Magistrale in HPC Engineering (following the local application deadlines and procedures as set by our University for the academic year 2026/27)

Note: you will be enrolled at Polimi for both years, since the first year. As part of your mobility pathway, you will attend one year (either the first or the second year) at one of the partner universities, according to the EUMaster4HPC study offer.
